Who are the Volunteers in Marine Rescue?
Volunteers in marine rescue come from all walks of life, individuals looking for adventure but at the same time wishing to contribute their time to a worthy community service.
The nature of marine rescue is demanding, and volunteers spend more time training than performing rescue, however when the 'call for assistance' comes, volunteers need to respond, confident that they can do their job safely at sea.
They quickly develop a healthy regard for the latter, in the knowledge that the sea does not suffer fools kindly but learn also of the many pleasures she has to offer to those who treat her with the respect she demands.

The aim of this site is to highlight the work that volunteers carryout, in sometimes hazardous conditions. In addition, its long term objective is to be the datum for collective experiences and ideas, a record of historical events and the recognition of those that have provided services beyond the normal call of duty.
