VMR Mornington and VMR Hastings are proud and delighted to share with you the news that Neil Cooper was awarded the Emergency Services Medal today.
Mr Cooper has also been heavily involved in search and rescue activities and has acted in the role of on scene co-ordinator on several occasions. As VMR's current president, he is responsible for coordinating the control, deployment, care and maintenance of the VMR's three rescue vessels, as well as managing a state-owned vessel”.
Neil, is pictured above after the search and rescue of an overturned vessel on Westernport where he and his crew retrieved 3 men from the cold waters off French Island in 2016. This incident is just one of many that Neil has responded to which has resulted in many lives saved.
